Command Points

Command Points are the limit to the troops you can train. With Gondor and Rohan, there is 200, while with Isengard and Mordor, there are 400. There's less with humans because in reality, it does take a long time growing up and being trained but in evil, they are just made. Manage them well and don't buy too many of one unit as you want your army to excel in all areas.

Power Points

Power Points are earned by killing enemy units and destroying enemy units. This also includes neutral units and buildings. In the Campaign, they can also be obtained by defending and conquering lands with a Power Point bonus. Power Points can then be used to allow you to access special powers which will benefit you on the battlefield and off the battlefield. Getting special powers is like a family tree. There are stems that connect to others and getting enough Power Points will allow you to purchase them. You must have enough Power Points and be connected to the power to buy it. Use these to bend the war to your will.

Wells

Wells are very cheap. They are only 200 Resources and reduce the cost of your infantry. The best bit is that they can heal your army providing you are Rohan or Gondor as they are the only teams with them. It is especially handy if you put the wells at the front by the Archers so they get healed. It only works when not under attack but normally, about a couple of seconds without being attacked is enough to start it again. Helpful, if your troops have been damaged in a fight.

Resources and Resource Multipliers

Resources is the currency in LOTR BFME. They are used to construct buildings, train units and also equip upgrades. Resources are produced by buildings such as Farms, Furnaces and Lumber Mills. Citadels also provide a small amount. Evil resource buildings can fire arrows helping you defend your base. Another way, while also providing experience to your troops and giving you more power points, is killing a neutral unit. Neutral units such as Goblins will attack any team and try to kill you. Destroying their home will give you money. The Scavenger power for Evil or Mordor will give you resources for every kill meaning a massacre is resourceful. You can also put some units into slaughter houses, killing them, and giving you money in return. With Gondor, a Marketplace as resource upgrades. With multiple resource buildings, they can provide a discount for many things. You always start with 1000 resources and I would use that for resource buildings to fund you from the earliest stage.

In the Campaign, getting a resource bonus will increase the resources produced from your resource buildings. Getting a 20% bonus will make the multiplier x1.2.

Farm produces 30 Resources. Multiplier is x1.5.

50% of 30 is 15. 30 + 15 equals 45. It now produces 45 resources. Simple!

Starting and Expansion Points

Most of the time, you'll start with a castle which is the biggest starting point. Sometimes, you'll start in Camps and that's the smallest starting point. All the castles have 8 building foundations but Rohan have 6. Camps have 6 building expansions. (Plus the defensive foundations). Good have walls and gates. Where you start is not the limit.

Settlement
Outpost
Camp
Castle

A settlement (200 - 5000 Resources) is where you can gather resources. With Good, there are Farms. Also, Evil have Slaughter Houses and Lumber Mills. Be careful as these are stationary and are a easy target. With Evil, when the building is rank 3, it will fire arrows at the enemy which helps. With Rohan, you can build an Ent Moot. You can spawn Ents and Treebeard. It costs 5000 Resources to build.

An outpost (800 Resources) has 3 building foundations. You can build any of the buildings your faction provides. I tend to build 3 defensive buildings such as a Keep or Sentry Tower to stop enemy forces. Build what you want.

A Camp (2000 Resources) has 6 building foundations and also has defensive foundations.  You could fill it with resource buildings to generate a lot of income. Again, use it to your will. This is your starting point in some places. Good have walls.

A Castle (5000 Resources) is your biggest base. Although you start with a Castle most of the time, you can find them across the map and build another base there. It has building and defensive foundations. Good have the benefit here too with walls.

You may also find some ruined towers along the way. Put an archer or crossbow unit in it and it will fire at enemies. Fire Arrows on the unit will make the tower use fire arrows instead of normal ones. Once the unit is in it, they can't get out so make sure you want them in there. These are handy for picking off little battalions of troops the computer like to use.

Use these to extend your empire!

Mordor

Mordor. The land of shadow ruled by the Dark Lord Sauron. Sauron wants the one ring back so he can regain his body and rule all of Middle Earth. Probably the greatest threat to all. Mordor captured Gollum and tortured him until he said where the ring was. He said Baggins which led the Ringwraiths to Hobbiton. The hobbits narrowly escaped them. Another close call was at Amon Sul (Weathertop) where the Ringwraiths trapped the hobbits while Aragorn looked for food. Aragorn rushed to their aid but Frodo was stabbed and nearly lost his life but was saved by Arwen and Elrond. While he unleashed Isengard on Rohan, he was preparing his army for his assault on Gondor. He had 300,000 Orcs backed with Haradrim, Soldiers of Rhun, Mummakil and Corsairs. Surprisingly, he did not exit them through the Black Gate but through Minas Morgul which is the Witch King of Angmar's Base. Minas Morgul was known as Minas Ithil but Mordor took it from Gondor. His army took Osgiliath easily and made it's way to Minas Tirith where the Gondorians trembled in fear. Mordor fired rocks from it's catapults and destroyed buildings and killed troops. Gondor fired back with their Trebuchets but they were then destroyed by the Nazgul who swooped down from above. Mordor used a battering ram to get through the gate but it was petty against it so they called in Grond. Grond was a massive battering ram being pulled by four big rhinoceros-looking creatures. There were Orc Archers on it firing back at Gondors equivalent. Grond smashed through the gate and trolls rushed in killing the first of the Gondor Soldiers. The Army rushed in and slaughtered  Soldiers and civilians alike. Gondor forces were pushed back to the second level. There was no hope until a horn blew and 6000 Rohirrim led by Theoden arrived at the scene. He did a speech and then they rushed towards the massive Orc army trampling them effortlessly. Theoden thought he had won the battle until another horn sounded and he saw Haradrim and Mummakil coming towards him.
The Mummakil crushed the horses and they suffered heavy casualties but Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli arrived with the Army of the Dead. The dead army ran in and finished off the rest. Theoden was knocked off his horse by a falling Mummakil and I think he broke his back. The Witch King said to his Fell Beast "Feast on his flesh" but suddenly Eowyn stood in his way. They engaged in a battle. Merry came up behind the Ringwraith and stabbed it in the leg causing him  to screech in pain. Eowyn pulled back and thrust her sword into his face and he died. Mordor had lost. After, Aragorn led the remaining forces of Rohan and Gondor to the Black Gate so Mordor would draw out it's forces making a path for Frodo and Sam. It was a punishing battle but Frodo managed to destroy the ring and Mordor's buildings collapsed along with Barad Dur and Sauron's Eye shrunk and exploded like a nuclear bomb. The ground collapsed and all of Mordor's forces fell and died. Mordor and Sauron was gone forever.

Isengard

Isengard was once a lovely place full of trees and where the wizard council would meet up with the wizard leader Saruman. Then Saruman, was corrupted by Sauron and now planned to destroy Rohan and breed his own army. First he betrayed Gandalf and imprisoned him on top of his tower, Orthanc. Gandalf was then saved by an eagle. Then he gets the Orcs, Sauron provided, to start cutting down trees and making caverns in the ground. He started using the wood to fuel the fires and used the Orcs to create weapons and pits where the Uruk Hai were born. The first Uruk Hai made was the cleverest and he was made the leader. His name was Lurtz. Saruman quickly sends him out with about 30 others to kill the Fellowship and keep the Hobbbits. He would then give the One Ring to Sauron. During the battle Lurtz kills Boromir with his bow and is then beheaded by Aragorn. However, the Uruk Hai capture Merry and Pippin thinking they have the ring. The Uruk Hai who held Merry and Pippin captive, were then killed by the banished Rohirrim who were led by Eomer. Pippin and Merry escape into Fangorn Forest. After that, Saruman loses his power over Theoden and his servant Wormtogue arrives back at Isengard where Saruman is finishing off a mine. He then tells Saruman that Theoden is fleeing to Helms Deep and Saruman says he is going to seige it. Grima then says that you will need thousands to take it. Saruman leads Grima outside where a massive army of 10,000 Uruk Hai cheer. Grima's eyes water and Saruman shouts to the Uruk Hai "  A new power is rising. Its victory is at hand. This night the land will be stained with the blood of Rohan. March to Helm's Deep. Leave none alive. To war!". The army move to Helms Deep and start doing a war chant to scare the already petrified Rohan defenders. Then they start rushing towards the wall with seige ladders but they are being shot by the archers. Theoden laughs and says "Is this you can conjure Saruman". Secretly the Uruk Hai plant two mines in the drain and then the Berserker runs and dives onto it with a torch. It blows up and destroys the wall. Then the Uruk Hai rush in and push the enemy into the Hornburg where Theoden is in despair. Then Aragorn says to ride out and meet them. They do so and on the hill by the side of the Uruk Hai Gandalf arrives with the banished Rohirrim. They charge down and kill all of the Uruk Hai. Meanwhile in Fangorn, Merry and Pippin meet an ent called Treebeard. Pippin thinks of a plan and says to go past Isengard. Treebeard is shocked to find loads of trees cuts down and gets enraged. He screams and marches to Isengard with the other ents. They destroy everything there and imprison Saruman in his tower as they can't destroy it.
